For thousands of years, humans survived, much like many animals still do today, mainly through our intuitive primal brain.
In the West, over the past 150 years, we’ve mainly learned that we are cognitive beings. For many, our analytical brain has become a strict, often unjust ruler.
When this ‘ruler’ exerts negative influence, it can cause significant harm to our emotional and physical well-being—often without us even realizing it.
In my practice, I regularly meet people who navigate life quickly, intelligently, and analytically, yet are burdened with numerous physical and emotional issues without linking them to their cognitive dominance.
On the other hand, I also encounter people with malnourished, overstuffed, or damaged bodies, often covered in makeup, fillers, or expensive clothing, maintaining a façade of success. The constant need to conform to 24/7 ‘socially desirable behavior’ often has little to do with a healthy self-image.
Our body and mind form an exquisitely refined, collaborative, and unique system. Everything within you is shaped by a combination of your genetic makeup, upbringing, and current environment. Often, your childhood survival strategies block the healthy adult way of living now. Every experience today is colored by the emotional meaning you give it and shaped by past experiences. And this happens unconsciously, until you become aware of it 😉

- Currently, I am following a two-year master’s program with Dr. Gabor Maté, studying his recognized psychotherapeutic approach to human connection and healing.
During our sessions, we’ll work together to determine the approach that best suits you: For some, we start at the cognitive level, while for others, body exercises are more fitting. Ultimately, every session will address your entire ‘being’.
My experience is that in a safe environment, by increasing awareness and processing old pain, you can start to release what no longer serves you. This allows you to actively engage in your process of change and well-being. The result? You’ll feel more energetic, stronger, balanced, and take more conscious control of your life.

Horses and deer still communicate based on this energy. If they don’t, they risk becoming prey to predators, as they are prey animals.
I’m trained to read the information from your energetic state based on the principles of Barbara Brennan. She was not only a therapist but also worked as a scientist at NASA.
The information I extract from your energy can serve as a foundation for diagnostics and treatment, often providing context for otherwise unexplained complaints.
Additionally, I view healing as an effective, loving, and accessible way to restore balance to your nervous system (and therefore your hormones). This approach is particularly effective for issues like menopause, burnout, PTSD, or an overactive nervous system. Regularity in treatment significantly enhances its effectiveness.

Hi, I’m Sam, 47 years old, and the driving force behind A Simple Mind.
I come from a generation where the word “psychologist” or “therapist” was rarely spoken. If you had to go in that direction, you were considered “completely crazy.” Most of us simply ignored our problems and carried on, as best as we could.
My life started on a carefree cloud, where I unconsciously went through life happily. By the age of 33, I was traveling the world for my work in research and design, constantly busy. I didn’t see a problem, and therefore, there wasn’t one 😉
The turning point came after an intense physical birth process with my daughter. While the world congratulated me on the arrival of this little miracle, the ‘global citizen’ in me had already taken flight. Suddenly, everything felt different: Through the deep connection with my body and my daughter’s, I realized I had been living in a ‘light bubble’ for years. I had simply cut out all the tough stuff and disconnected from my body for convenience. The small detail? That joyful bubble would often burst physically: I’d get pneumonia almost every year and struggled to gain weight, even though I ate a lot. (Being overweight is not ideal, but constantly being asked if you eat enough is far from great).

As a mother, with my feet firmly on the ground, it felt like my body was now releasing unresolved issues like a volcano erupting. The time had come to live through it. I had no choice but to say goodbye to my company, my career, and my old life.
I decided to pursue a master’s in psychotherapy and energetic bodywork, inspired by NASA researcher Barbara Brennan and her school of healing.
This was my first step toward better understanding myself. Over the seven years of my studies, I became more and more interested in the human being. I discovered how important it is to feel, truly feel, stay grounded, and build a loving relationship with both your body and mind.
What I’ve learned from my slow process is that when I feel safe and seen, I find the courage to explore painful experiences, process them, and ultimately heal. This frees me from the terrifying ‘dictators’ in my head that constantly push me in the wrong direction. I stand firmer on the path I want to walk. The simpler my thoughts, the smoother this process becomes.
Right now, I see many young people who are struggling, but I also notice how brave, aware, and wise many of them already are. Today’s youth is making changes that previous generations couldn’t even imagine. I find this incredibly inspiring!
We don’t always choose the moments that shape us into who we are, but we do choose whether to carry them as burdens or transform them into fertile, loving ground.
